I am currently experimenting with CSS and div categories, specifically for my D-16 image dump. I was trying to put two divs right next to each other and was actually about to get the hang of it.

This is monumental for me, CSS is something I've long avoided because it seemed like an untameable beast. Now it's just a somewhat unruly and mysterious beast.

Suddenly while adjusting my CSS, as if by black magic, another issue emerged out of nowhere; THE CODE DID NOT CARE ABOUT MY MAX WIDTH SPECIFICATIONS ANYMORE.

This was awful because it made my div categories stack instead of being separate sidebars. I thought that maybe the specifications for each div category were bleeding into each other, but even with only one category, the issue was still there.

So I kept mangling, dismantling and reassembling my code again and again and it still did not work. I did realise at one point that I had accidentally omitted the "fit-content" property/whatever it's called. I thought that was it, but the div category with all the D-16 images STILL refused to be 800 pixels wide instead of the maximum width it was so defiantly insisting on staying at.

I was about to just make the page from scratch again when it hit me:

"Did I specify it was 800 pixels or did I just type in 800?"

It was the latter. God I feel stupid right now.
